2015 was a year that really helped me to discover my Holy Grail Products. Foundations, blushes, mascara, just about every aspect of my makeup stash contained top brands and highly recommended products but I still was not satisfied.
Over the course of this year however, as I discovered what worked best for my personal skin-tone and texture, or my own eye color, rather than those of my favorite YouTubers or celebrities, I really began to find products that I could not live without.
Favorite products:
1.) Beginning first with my Holy Grail Foundation- Chanel Vitalumier Aqua
This stuff is AMAZING. This foundation is perfect for those of us with oily skin. If you are looking for something with medium coverage, that makes your combination/oily skin look beautiful, then this foundation very well may be for you. This foundation is perfect because it gives just the right amount of coverage on the skin without looking cakey. It also feels and smells luxurious.
2.) Nars Orgasm Blush
This item is described on the Nars website as a "peachy pink with gold shimmer". What I love about this blush is that it is rather sheer, which means I can wear a little bit on some days or build it up for more coverage if I feel like going more glam. Not only that- but this blush also has quite a lot of shimmer, so on days that I wear this blush I can skip the highlighter if I feel like it.
3.) Hourglass Archbrow Sculpting Pencil
As all of us beauty lovers know- brows are an extremely important part of tge face. The way we shape our brows can make or break our makeup looks. This eyebrow pencil by hourglass is my favorite. If used with a light hand it can make your eyebrows look amazing. The shape of the pencil and the angle of the product is rather unique and is what makes the product work for me. Before this I used the Anastasia Dipbrow and I love that product too... But it sucked to travel with because I would have to bring an angled brush that would get my makeup bag all dirty (does anyone else have that problem or is it just me?). Anyway, I highly recommend that you give this product a try and let me know what you think!
4.) Colourpop Supershock Cheek-Wisp:
This is a new product for me but an instant favorite. I've been on the search for a good highlight, but I have been trying to avoid the high price tag of the other highlighters on the market. This Supershock cheek color in Wisp is absolutely amazing. The website describes the color as being a golden champagne, and many other bloggers have noted that this color is a great supe for Champagne Pop from Becca Cosmentics. I haven't put the Becca highlighter to the test, but I really don't even want to because I love this highlighter so much- I don't care for a replacement. The texture and pigmentation of this highlighter are to die for. Unfortunately Colourpop isn't available in stores, so it is impossible to swatch before hand- so buying it was a gamble, but it so so worth it!! And p.s.- the Colourpop team was amazing, my stuff was shipped so quickly and included a sweet handwritten note! Love them!
5.) Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
This concealer is amazing. Better than any other drugstore concealer that I've ever tried. And better than most high end concealers as well. It is easy to apply, has beautiful pigmentation, doesn't crease, and stays on all day. Perfect!
6.) Mac Mineralized Skinfinish Natural:
This has been my favorite powder for a couple of years now. It is the most natural, yet effective powder I own. Most natural orders tend to leave my oily skin looking shiny after an hour or two. But this stuff holds up all day. It is such a breath of fresh air to have this kind of a result from a product that doesn't leave my face looking cakey and powdery: it is amazing. It also works for all of the foundations that I've tried. So I can mix and match foundations all that I want, and this powder will still look and feel amazing.
7.) Too Faced Better Than Sex Madcara:
If you have ever tried this mascara then I'm sure you will agree with me when I say that this mascara is PERFeCt! It is the best mascara that I have every owned. The price tag is the only draw back, so I have tried to find a dupe because I am in love with how this makes my lashes look so long and full...but unfortunately I can't find anything that works quite the same.
8.) Stila Kajal Eyeliner- Black:
This eyeliner is perfect if you are looking to have a dramatic smokey look. The color is extremely pigmented, and the pencil is creamy which makes it extremely bendable. It has great lasting power. I even prefer it over my previous favorite- the Urban Decay 24/7 pencils. The only drawback (which I actually don't mind) is that it could become smudgeyid you don't set it with an eyeshadow. So the pigmentation is definitely there, and the lasting power, but it comes at the price of risking some smudginess.
Okay, so those were my favorite makeup products of 2015. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have, and also let me know what your favorite products of the year were!
xx Bye bye
