My Favorite Highlighters & Highlighting Brushes

Hello everyone! One step I know I can't go without when doing my makeup is highlighting! Highlighting is used to literally highlight and accentuate certain parts if your face. For me, I like to apply it on the highest point of my cheekbones, a bit on my nose, and sometimes on my Cupid's bow.

So, today I'm going to be showing you guys a few of my favorite highlighters, and my favorite types of brushes to use, to get a flawless highlight! 

First up is one of my very favorite highlighters of all time! The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. The cool thing is you can get the palette (below), so you don't have to choose one color, and have different shades/tones. Sometimes when I have blush on I like to use a pinkish shade to coordinate with the blush. Or, if I'm not wearing any blush that day, I prefer a gold toned shade. So, you have options!

Next is MAC Soft and Gentle. I loooove this highlighter! My favorite feature is that I can wear it alone, because sometimes I don't feel like having blush+bronzer on. It is very bronze, but very bright, without being shimmery. 

Another one of my favorites is from the Urban Decay Naked Skin blush/bronzer/highlighter palette. I'm not crazy about the bronzer in this plate because it's a bit orange, but I adore the highlighter. It's bright and illuminating, and again, not shimmery. I'm not sure if you can buy it alone, or only in the palette, but if you don't mind the orange bronzer, I suggest buying the palette! Or going in to the store to see how you like it! 

Now, for the brushes! 

I have two brushes I always use for bronzer. A fan brush like dis: 

And a dome-shaped brush like this: 

With the fan brush I prefer to use it with something like the Urban Decay highlighter. It is very thin so you won't get too much product on the brush, so it looks defused. It also holds a nice shape which makes it easier to apply 

With the domed brush I like using the MAC or Hourglass ones. They're already a bit defused and very lustrous, luminous. With dome brush does the opposite of the fan, and applies a bit more. But the highlighter is very soft, so it doesn't look harsh.
